ONE
"Red-Hot Mary"

Start with 12 oz. V-8 Juice
Add adequate amount of Worcestershire Sauce (enough to darken juice to almost brown)
Squeeze a slice of lemon.
Add dash of cayenne pepper.
Add a significant amount of hot sauce or for those who really like it spicy, use Vietnamese Rooster Sauce.

Chocolate Syrup
1/2 cup heavy cream
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 Tbsp. sugar
Coffee


Add 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar to heavy cream. Whip until fluffy. In each coffee cup, pour one teaspoon chocolate syrup. Add coffee, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.

Stir until blended.

Top with whipped cream.

THREE
"Pink Pussycat"

1 cup Pink Lemonade
1/4 cup Sweet and Sour Mix
Splash of grenadine

Splash of lemon-lime soda

Combine all ingredients.
Stir and pour over ice, add a splash of lemon lime soda.
Garnish with a strawberry.

"Pom Pom Punch"

4 Tbsp. "Honeybee" honey
3/4 cup cold Pomegranate juice
1 and 1/2 cups cold ginger ale
Sprig of mint
Lime slices

Stir the honey and pomegranate juice together until the honey dissolves. Add ginger ale and lightly stir. Place sprig of mint in the bottom of each glass. Pour punch over mint. Place lime twist on glass rim and serve. Serves four.



FIVE
"French Chocolate"

2 1/2 squares Baker's unsweetened chocolate, cut in pieces
1/2 cup water
1/4 sugar
Dash of salt
1/2 cup cream, whipped
6 cups hot milk

Combine water and chocolate, and cook over low flame until smooth, stirring constantly for about four minutes.

Add sugar and salt, continue to cook and stir for about four minutes longer, until thick. Cool. Whip cream.

Fold chocolate mixture into cream.

To serve: place two heaping tablespoons of mixture in a mug. Fill with hot milk. Stir with peppermint stick. Chocolate mixture can be made the day before, and stored in the refrigerator.

"Sal's Virgin Bloody Bull"

3 Tbsp. Lea & Perrins Worcestershire
2 Tbsp. A-1 Steak Sauce
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
3 Tbsp. Anjus
2 pinches celery salt
1 pinch salt
1 pinch pepper
2 dashes House Recipe Hot Sauce
2 dashes Tabasco
Top off with a good tomato juice

Pour all ingredients over ice in a cocktail shaker.

Shake well. Pour over ice. Garnish with lemon, lime, olive, pickled okra, pickled green bean and pickled asparagus.




SEVEN
"Frosty Mocha Cream"

6 oz. cold brewed coffee
1 oz. chocolate syrup
1 tsp. sugar
6 oz. milk
1 pint vanilla ice cream
1 can whipped cream
Handful of chocolate chips

Combine chilled coffee and milk; add chocolate syrup and sugar. Stir.

Put one or two scoops of vanilla ice cream into four six-ounce glasses.

Pour the coffee blend over the ice cream.

Top with canned whipped cream and garnish with chocolate chips.

Makes four 6-ounce servings.



EIGHT
"Rockin' Dopsie's Zydeco Twister"

1 part grenadine
1/3 part iced tea
1/3 part lemonade
1/3 part cranberry juice


Add ice and shake all ingredients, garnish with orange wedge & cherry.

"Merry Melba"

1 oz. raspberry nectar
1 oz. peach nectar
1 oz. pineapple juice
1 oz. ginger ale
2 oz. club soda
Squeeze of lemon

Mix ingredients over ice. Serve in tall glass. Garnish with peach slice.

"Martini Noel"

1 oz. papaya nectar
3 oz. club soda
1 oz. Sprite
Squeeze of lime

Combine ingredients with ice in pitcher or cocktail shaker, and stir or shake.

Strain to remove ice, and serve in chilled martini glass.

Garnish with cherry and lime slice.




ELEVEN
"Gingertini"

2 oz. blood orange juice
2 oz. extra spicy ginger ale
1 oz. pineapple juice

Topping Garnish:
Whipped cream
1-2 oz. additional ginger ale, preferably room temperature

Chill martini glass by filling with ice water until ready to use.

In a cocktail shaker over ice, use 2 ounces blood orange juice (can substitute regular orange juice but will be weaker), 2 ounces extra spicy ginger ale and
1 ounce pineapple juice.

Empty ice water from martini glass, shake cocktail until cold and pour into glass.

To make the topping garnish, reuse the cocktail shaker and add the egg white and 2 ounces of ginger ale.

Shake vigorously, but be careful to not let the top blow off from the carbon dioxide release of the ginger ale.

This will make a creamy foam that you spoon over the cocktail.



TWELVE
"Virgin Miami Vice"

3 oz. Strawberry Daiquiri mix
3 oz. Pina Colada Mix
Dash Sprite
Ice

Combine the Strawberry Daiquiri mix with ice, and a dash of Sprite in a blender until smooth. In a second blender, combine the Pina Colada mix with a dash of Sprite with ice, and blend until smooth. Then in a festive glass, pour the mixtures in together so they mix into a colorful, cool, and tasty drink. Garnish with orange slice.

Twelve for the Road counts down to New Year's Eve with a favorite non-alcoholic holiday beverage from a range of well-known local and national personalities.

Beginning Friday, December 20th, the series airs for twelve consecutive nights during Eyewitness News at 10 p.m. 

So let's toast to the spirit of a safe and happy holiday, with a dozen great alcohol-free drinks!
