    06/06/06 - 6/10/06 Belo and Hearst-Argyle co-sponsor an annual week-long news producing workshop to strengthen producing skill. One WWL-TV employee was selected for participation this summer and as a result was moved to higher profile news shows.

Internship program

    WWL-TV offered a paid internship (college credit) program for two college level students in the news department during the summer of 2006.

Activities designed to further the goal of disseminating information about broadcast employment opportunities

    Senior Producer in News hosted tour of WWL-TV for a group of communications students from Loyola University, "Beginning Reporting" class on 04/11/06

    Chief Meteorologist gave a Weather Center tour and talk to a group of Americorp Students in New Orleans for a Katrina Cleanup on 09/12&13/06

Provide training to management level personnel as to methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and preventing discrimination

    Kim Cummings, Regional Director Human Resources and Value Options conducted a management training seminar for all WWL Managers.

    The Executive News Director joined other Belo News Executives at Washington State Universitys Annual Edward R. Murrow Symposium where they all served on different presentation/discussion panels on 04/18/06.
