Ashley Rodrigue - Northshore Bureau Chief
Ashley Rodrigue is WWL-TV's Northshore Bureau reporter, covering news in St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington parishes for Eyewitness News and WWLTV.com. Ashley was born and raised on the West Bank. She attended LSU and graduated in 2005 with a bachelor's degree from the Manship School of Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Criminal Justice.
Ashley said she chose a career in television after being interviewed by WWL-TV's Bill Capo during the Bush/Clinton election.
"That first experience in front of a camera sparked my love for news," she said. "I made it my mission from then onto not only do what I love as my career, but to also do it in the place I love most – my home."
Ashley pursued journalism in high school at Archbishop Blenk with the school newspaper, and she continued through college with Tiger TV at LSU and several internships in Baton Rouge and Texas.
She began her career as an apprentice for WBRZ in June 2005. She contributed to the station's coverage of Hurricane Katrina and covered other news in the capitol city.
Later she moved to a reporter position at KFDM-TV in Beaumont, Texas, before returning to Louisiana in 2010.
Now Ashley is thrilled to be home, closer to family and friends, and working at a station with a strong commitment to covering Northshore news, for the only local station with a Northshore Bureau.
"I'm looking forward to covering an area that is growing and has a good combination of both a booming city and still rural areas." In her spare time, Ashley loves playing with her pug, Tater Tot, exercising and visiting with friends and family.
