Hear ye, hear ye! RenFest kicks off in Hammond
HAMMOND -- RenFest is taking place the next five weekends in Hammond with shows, activities, rides and shops. It’s educational and fun for the whole family.
They have a cast of over 100 characters reenacting the days of Renaissance. About fifty of the characters travel across the United States to perform at festivals, the other fifty are local volunteers that work on their roles year round. Thats not even counting the merchants selling food, jewelry, clothing, artwork, armor and leather goods.
Shows include juggling, jousting, glass blowing, knife throw, puppet shows, magic and much more. You can even rent costumes to get the full experience.
RenFest is located at 46448 River Road in Hammond. Dates are Nov. 11, 12, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26 and Dec. 2, 3, 9, 10, from 9:45 a.m. until dusk, rain or shine. Each weekend has a theme. The 11-12th is “Heroes & Pirates”. Visit larf.net for more information.
