Man dead after Gentilly shooting, police say
NEW ORLEANS – NOPD is investigating a shooting in Gentilly on Wednesday night that has left one man dead.
Police say the shooting occurred in the 2100 block of Caton Street around 7:15 p.m. Officers found a man lying on the sidewalk suffering from an apparent gunshot wounds to his chest.
The man was taken to the hospital by EMS where he later died from his injuries. The shooting is being investigated as a murder.
Police have not identified a suspect or motive at this time.
