A British Columbia fisherman caught a gigantic white sturgeon weighing nearly 1,100 pounds.
The average white sturgeon weighs just 30 to 100 pounds. The caught sturgeon is believed to be the biggest freshwater fish ever caught in North America on rod and reel.
One expert said the sturgeon could be over 100 years old.
The fish took an hour and a half to reel in.
"It is the most excitement I've ever had with a fish," said 65-year-old Michael Snell. "It all happened so quickly. When we picked her head up out of the water, it was almost three-feet wide. I never knew a fish could be that large."
