An ad campaign by Kraft for Oreo that supports gay pride is creating quite the controversy.
On a Facebook page for Oreo, the traditional white middle of the cookie is replaced with a rainbow filling and the statement, "June 25 | Pride," in support of gay pride.
The post has over 200,000 likes and over 35,000 comments, as the campaign quickly went viral, drawing thousands of posts for and against the Facebook post in less than 24 hours.
Some in support -- like Deb Zieher, who wrote, "Love the picture, love the ideal behind it. Well done, Oreo! A corporation with some heart behind it, how refreshing." -- and some lashed out at Kraft for supporting gay pride -- like John F Benko, who wrote, "(A)bsolutely disgusting. Oreos will never be allowed in my home again."
What do you think? Good idea or bad business move?
