EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- From the golden arches to behind iron bars, an Evansville man is accused of being a real-life hamburglar.

Police say a man busted through the front doors of a McDonald's in Evansville, Indiana and tried to pry open a cash register.

When that didn't work, police say he grabbed $5 worth of fruit and yogurt parfaits and ran away.

Later in the day, the guy walked back in to the McDonald's, now open, still covered in glass.

"If you're going to get the charge for breaking in you might as well get something out of it. We've seen a little bit of everything," said Sgt. Jason Cullum of the Evansville Police.  "It's a crime but it was still kind of amusing for the officers that were involved."

Christopher McGlauffin faces charges of burglary, criminal mischief and theft.
