SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A South Texas man convicted in a road rage killing after the victim stopped to pick flowers for his wife has been sentenced to 35 years in prison.
A judge in San Antonio on Monday sentenced 46-year-old Stephen Wayne Richardson.
The San Antonio man was convicted last month of manslaughter in the 2010 beating death of 30-year-old Juan Duran.
Investigators say Duran had stopped at an intersection to pick the flowers. Investigators say Richardson followed Duran to a parking lot and confronted the victim about holding up traffic.
Prosecutors say DNA evidence from a ring that Richardson was wearing linked him to the attack.
