COLUMBUS -- An Ohio high school student is receiving praise for a selfless act during the state 3,200-meter final.

West Liberty-Salem junior Meghan Vogel, who had already won the 1,600-meter title earlier in the day, stopped running and helped Arlington (Ohio) High sophomore Arden McMath get off the ground after she collapsed. Vogel then assisted McMath for the final 20 yards through the finish line.

McMath said she was "kind of blacking out" when Vogel began helping her across the finish line.

Vogel received a standing ovation for the good deed.
