ESPN's Chris Broussard is reporting that Chris Paul has turned down a three-year contract extension with the Clippers.
Rather than sign a max-contract deal worth $60 million, Paul will play out the 2012-2013 season and hit free agency, where he'll seek a five-year, max contract deal that should exceed $100 million.
The former Hornet's teammate, Blake Griffin, intends to sign a five-year extension with the Clippers later this month.
