Scientists pulled 50 tons of litter from the Pacific Ocean, Yahoo! News is reporting.

The mission is part of a larger push to clean up the Pacific around the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument near the Hawaiian Islands.

Scientists said the most surprising part of the mission is that in spite of pulling more than 700 tons of litter from the ocean since 1996, there’s still that much more to go to keep the area clean.
