BOISE -- Interstate 84 was temporarily shut down near Jerome Tuesday night after a tractor-trailer caught fire after crashing into a disabled car on the side the freeway.
Idaho State Police officers tell KTVB the driver of the truck caused the crash when he fumbled for a soda can, losing control of his vehicle.
Police say the 53-year-old driver was about to move into the left lane to avoid an empty Audi on the right shoulder. That's when officers say he dropped the soda can, and when he tried to pick it up he drifted into the right shoulder and hit the Audi.
The driver's truck then caught fire, and burned to the ground.
Idaho State Police dispatchers say there was no one inside of the car and the driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
