HOUSTON—A Houston couple may have to put their wedding plans on hold thanks to a couple of robbers.

Greg Gunnels and his fiancée were out watching airplanes land at about 1 a.m. Friday at a lot on Lee Road South and Will Clayton Parkway near Bush Airport when they said they were held up at gunpoint.

Gunnels said one robber yelled “get out of the truck.”

Marie Bratton said another robber ordered them to hand over everything. She did. Money. Wedding rings. Driver’s licenses. All Gone.

The couple even told The Houston Police Department that the robbers took their old Chevy 1500 pickup truck with a blue hood.

Gunnels, a school bus driver for Aldine Indpendent School District said he’s trying to get new IDs so they can get their wedding license.

They are scheduled to get married in seven days. They are not sure if they’ll get the paperwork in time.

They never expected a romantic night to turn so tragic.

Gunnels who has trouble walking said one of the robbers kept saying “give me the money, give me the money.”

”I’m just glad to be alive,” Gunnels said.

So is his fiancée.

The robbers stole nearly everything they had. The two are now just glad to have each other.

They hope to have their truck back in time for the big day.
