NEW ORLEANS – Parts of I-10 East in New Orleans was closed Sunday evening as police investigated a reported shooting on the interstate.
New Orleans Police closed all traffic lanes on I-10 East near the Orleans Avenue exit just after 7 p.m. Sunday. The road was closed and the entrance ramp at Esplanade Avenue was closed for more than an hour for police activity.
Investigators say the shooting happened near the intersection of I-10 East and North Claiborne Avenue. One man was taken to West Jefferson Hospital by private conveyance. Police say the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police have not released any additional details about the investigation at this time. A white SUV that was peppered with bullet holes was seen being removed on N. Claiborne Avenue.

There are no reports of injuries from this incident.
