NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide in the parking lot of a West Bank apartment complex shortly after 12:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Authorities said they were called to Westbend Parkway and Vespasian Boulevard for a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a 31-year-old man behind the wheel of a white Jeep in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

Police said the car was still running and all four of its windows had been shot out. The man was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will release the victim's name and cause of death. No other details are available at this time.
