Metairie bank robber found in Baton Rouge motel, JPSO reports

58-year-old Andrew McCray has been booked on two counts of armed robbery Wednesday night.

METAIRIE, La – A man suspected of robbing a bank on Veterans Memorial Boulevard has been arrested, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.

According to JPSO, 58-year-old Andrew McCray has been booked on two counts of armed robbery Wednesday night after allegedly robbing the Gulf Coast Bank and Trust Monday morning.

During the investigation, investigators say a deputy recognized McCray as a person he had met before during another call.

JPSO, the FBI and U.S. Marshals worked to find McCray. Wednesday night, marshals and deputies in East Baton Rouge Parish found McCray at a Baton Rouge motel. JPSO reports that McCray had a gun and cash believed to be stolen from the bank when he was arrested.
