NEW ORLEANS -- Police are investigating into three different shootings overnight Thursday.

Officials said the first shooting happened shortly after midnight, where one man was injured in the 3900 block of Ford Street. Police said a 44-year-old man was in a vehicle when he heard gunshots. The man was brought to an area hospital by EMS.

The second shooting happened around 1 a.m. on the corner of Baccich Street and Gentilly Boulevard, where police said one person was hurt. The 20-year-old victim told police he was approached from behind by an armed man. When he ran, the man shot at the victim, hitting him twice, police said.

The third shooting happened in the 2700 block of Verbena Street shortly after 1:30 a.m. Police said when they got there, they found a 17-year-old shot on the front porch. He was brought to an area hospital by ambulance, police said.

No other details have been released from authorities about the shootings and police have not said the incidents are connected.
