KENNER – A man has been arrested after a shooting at a Kenner apartment complex left one man injured, police say.

According to the Kenner Police Department, officers responded to the shooting outside the Malcolm Kenner Apartments around 4:15 p.m. Officers learned that there was an altercation inside the complex when the gunshots rang out. Police say a 19-year-old man was struck in the leg.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

Officers later learned that there was an altercation among children who were playing football when it escalated to a fight involving adults. Reginald Tezeno, 41, was involved in the fight and produced a gun and fired.

The bullet ricocheted off the ground and struck the 19-year-old, who was not the intended target, police say. Police found Tezeno in the apartment complex and was taken into custody.
