NEW ORLEANS -- WWL-TV and The Welcome Table New Orleans along with the Mothers Circle participated in a silent march against violence Saturday morning in New Orleans.

Mothers who lost children to violence and mothers of those who have committed a violent crime came together with city leaders, special guests New Orleans Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis, rap artist Dee-1 and Brandan "B-mike" Odums as well as members of the community to lead a silent march symbolic of burying violence and giving birth to peace.

The opening ceremony began at 11 a.m. at the City Hall front steps. The group then marched to Congo Square for a closing ceremony.
