Three Washington Parish men charged in separate child rapes

Prosecutors say abuse in one case happened during a five-year span

FRANKLINTON -- A grand jury in Washington Parish on Tuesday indicted three men accused of raping children in separate cases, prosecutors said.

The indictments were announced Thursday.

According to District Attorney Warren Montgomery's office, one child had been abused for five years between 2009 and 2014.

Prosecutors said 41-year-old Andrew Fonz Hunt was indicted on first-degree rape and molestation of a juvenile. Hunt is accused of molesting and then raping a girl from the time she was 8 until she was 13.

In a second case, 29-year-old Louis J. Crawford III is accused of raping a 12-year-old girl in July 2017. Crawford was indicted on a count of first-degree rape.

Kendrick L. Baker, 27, who is accused of raping a 9-year-old girl in February 2017, was charged with first-degree rape of a victim under 13.

Due to the ages of the victims, authorities have not released additional details about the alleged crimes.
