NEW ORLEANS -- Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser participated in the first-ever crawfish pardoning Tuesday, March 7 as a way to 'officially kick off crawfish season.'

Nungesser issued the official proclamation and formally pardoned the crawfish named Emile.

Zatarain's along with representatives of the Louisiana Seafood Board and Department of Wildlife & Fisheries hosted the event at the Louisiana State Museum Old U.S. Mint.

Mayor Sherbin Collette of Henderson and Claude Davis, Zatarain's Principal Scientist were also in attendance.
