The busy Latin grocery chain, Ideal Market, announced Thursday that its workers would be participating in the 'Day Without Immigrants' campaign by shutting down all stores in the Greater New Orleans and Baton Rouge area.

Ideal has nine locations including three in Metairie, two in Baton Rouge, one in Gretna, Houma and Kenner and one on Broad Street in New Orleans.

The company released a statement saying all Ideal Market stores would close in support of "an effort to show the contribution that immigrant workers give to 'Make America Great!'"
