SLIDELL – The Slidell Police Department is investigating the drowning of a 4-year-old boy that occurred on Monday afternoon.
Police say 4-year-old Timothy Brooks was found unresponsive by his father in a backyard swimming pool in the 100 block of West Pinewood Drive on Monday around 6 p.m.
Brooks was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police say the incident is believed to be an accident and no charges have been filed at this time, however the matter is still under investigation.
Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal said that his thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
“Whenever a young child has an untimely death, it affects everyone involved, including our officers and other first responders. It really hits home for everyone,” he said.
