KENNER – One person died in a car crash on Veterans Boulevard in Kenner on Tuesday night, according to the Kenner Police Department.
The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. at Veterans and Loyola Drive when a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche and a 2005 Chevrolet pick-up truck collided in the intersection.
According to witnesses, the Avalanche was going eastbound on Veterans Boulevard when it ran a red light and collided with the pick-up truck, which was traveling south onto Aberdeen Drive from Loyola Drive, the police department says.
The driver of the Avalanche, a man form Denham Springs, was taken to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A man and one occupant was in the pick-up truck and both received minor injuries, the police department says.
The man who died has not been identified at this time as notification of family is pending, the police department says.
