METAIRIE, La. -- Three people from out of town are facing charges after deputies said a chase turned into a series of wrecks in Metairie Monday night.

Officials said just before 8 p.m., a deputy spotted about 15 ATV's and dirt bikes driving recklessly near the corner of West Metairie Avenue and Elise Avenue.

Deputies said they tried to stop the group, but all of them tried to run away on their vehicles.

During the chase, three separate wrecks happened.

Two happened at the corner of Clearview Parkway and Airline Drive. Deputies said in the first crash, one of the dirt bike riders intentionally wrecked his bike into a JPSO vehicle. Shortly after, officials said an ATV crashed into another JPSO vehicle and another passing car.

The third wreck happened at the corner of Clearview Parkway and Prairie Street, where deputies said a driver crashed into a JPSO vehicle.

Two of the suspects were brought to a local hospital from injuries, officials said. Their condition was unknown.

Officials said a total of three people have been arrested; Carl Prather, 35, Nasir Wallace, 18 and Durrell Dixie, 31. All three are from the Washington D.C. area, officials said.
