Deputies in Jefferson Parish say two men wanted on charges of second-degree murder are still on the run after the SWAT team was called to a Metairie home Friday morning.

Causeway Boulevard was blocked northbound for at least an hour due to police activity. Officials say New Orleans Police contacted JPSO saying they believed 23-year-old Michael Meyers and 24-year-old Jamal Horton were inside a home in the 3100 block of White Street.

Three people, including a small child, peacefully exited the home and were detained. Investigators later learned that Meyers was not inside the home.

JPSO described Meyers as a black male, standing about 6'2" and weighing about 155 pounds. He has a tattoo of a cross on his forehead.

"He is wanted by the NOPD in connection with a second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder," Jason Rivarde said. "He is also wanted by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office in reference to an armed robbery."

New Orleans Police are also looking for Jamal Horton in connection with the same second-degree murder offense. Investigators did not believe Horton was on White Street Friday morning.

Anyone with information is asked to contact NOPD at 504-658-5305. Residents can also report information to Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
