Dorignac's, the popular Metairie grocery, is at the center of a brewing Jefferson Parish court battle pitting the great-grandchildren of the store's founders against the overseers of trust funds that hold ownership of the business.

According to our partners at The New Orleans Advocate, Jody, Jason, Jon Paul and Joel Dorignac allege that over the years the trustees have methodically excluded them from involvement in the family business, founded in the late 1930s.

They seek damages and aim to remove the trustees of the funds benefiting them and their late father's third wife, arguing that the trusts' rules entitle the plaintiffs to information about the store's operations and finances, which they have not been receiving.
