HOUMA, La -- A motorcyclist is dead after a wreck in Houma Thursday morning.

According to the Louisiana State Police, 48-year-old Dwayne McClanahan died shortly after 7 a.m. The investigation revealed McClanahan was driving a 2015 Harley Davidson southbound on Valhi Drive near Equity Boulevard. Troopers said he went through a curve to the right at a high speed and crossed the center line.

McClanahan then went into the oncoming lane and drove off the road where he was thrown from his motorcycle. The Terrebonne Parish Coroner's Office said he sustained fatal injuries from the crash.

No further information is available. Toxicology tests are pending.
