Deputies in Lafourche Parish say a Raceland man was arrested after they say he kept his girlfriend at home for days, forcing her to have sex with him at gunpoint.
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reports that 36-year-old Mark Kraemer was arrested on multiple charges including rape and battery.
Deputies were called to a home on Bayou Folse Road to investigate a domestic disturbance around 11 p.m. Thursday. At the scene, a woman told investigators that Kraemer attacked her that night and during a previous argument.
Kraemer was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on charges of second-degree battery and battery of a dating partner. He was released Sunday after posting $200,000 bond.
Webre said detectives learned that Kraemer had recently forced the woman at gunpoint to have sex with him. Webre said Kraemer did not allow the woman to leave the home for several days.
Kraemer was arrested a second time almost three hours after he bonded out of jail. He was booked a second time on charges of first-degree rape and false imprisonment. His bond was set at $300,000.
