HOUMA, La. – A woman's ex-boyfriend is in police custody after he allegedly followed her to her mother's home and killed her younger brother.
Deputies said 42-year-old Rhubin Scott Jr., went to his ex-girlfriend’s job on Tuesday, Oct. 25, and after causing a disturbance was asked to leave. Investigators said the woman went to her mother's house around 11 p.m., and Scott was followed her there.
Scott then fatally shot his ex-girlfriend’s 17-year-old brother, David Trahan, and wounded the woman as well as her mother according to police. Trahan was pronounced dead on the scene. Trahan’s mother remains in critical condition and his sister was released from the hospital on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
Scott faces second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder charges. He remains in the Terrebonne Parish Jail on a $2 million bond.
