NEW ORLEANS – Police are investigating a shooting in the Ninth Ward that left three people injured and two dead.
Police say the shooting took place in the 5400 block of Andry Street on Tuesday night around 8:30 p.m.
Police say all five of the victims were inside a red Nissan car when the shooting occurred. The car was then driven to the 5100 block of St. Claude near the LA Express Food Mart, where one man died. Another man died later at the hospital.
The Orleans Parish Coroner identified the victims as 26-year-old Jamar Robinson and 21-year-old Byron Jackson.
According to NOPD, it is not known at this time if the suspect or suspects were also inside the car.

One neighbor who did not want to be identified by Eyewitness News said that she knew one of the victims who died.
"We got a phone call that they had a shooting at St. Claude and Lizardi so I came over here and then I found out it was one of my friend's son," she said.
"The guns got to stop. It really has to stop,” she said.
Tuesday night's shooting comes after two separate shootings left three people injured. Those shooting took place near St. Charles parade routes.
A motive is not known at this time.
