NEW ORLEANS -- One person is behind bars after law enforcement officials say he led deputies on a chase through Pearl River Mississippi, St. Tammany Parish and part of Orleans Parish.

Officials said shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday, St. Tammany deputies were made aware of a chase in Pearl River County involving a stolen car. STPSO joined the pursuit near the West Pearl River Bridge.

Deputies said the driver, 29-year-old Kacy Nix of Picayune, went over speeds of 100 mph through St. Tammany Parish, and entering Orleans Parish, before making a u-turn back into St. Tammany.

At some point, officials said Nix hit a STPSO unit, causing minor damage.

The chase ended when the car ran out of gas and came to rest on the shoulder of I-10 back in Mississippi, deputies said.

Nix was arrested shortly after 7:30 p.m. by Pearl River County deputies.

Pearl River County, Picayune Police Department, Louisiana State Police, Slidell Police Department and Hancock County Sheriff’s Office were all involved in the pursuit, officials said.
