Report: Power knocked out in Tangipahoa, St Helena after fire at substation

According to Entergy's outage map, about 9,000 people were without power in Tangipahoa around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Thousands were without power in Tangipahoa and St. Helena parishes after a large fire at an electrical facility, WBRZ reports.

According to Entergy's outage map, about 9,000 people were without power in Tangipahoa around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Outages were also reported in Amite, Roseland, Fluker and a small part of Livingston.

It is not known at this time what caused the fire.

Power was restored to all residents by 7:30 p.m.
