The St. Tammany Sheriff's Office is investigating a hit-and-run crash involving an off-duty reserve deputy that resulted in a pursuit where shots were fired.
Deputies say the incident started before 3 p.m., but did not reveal where it began.
The pursuit end on Highway 1077, north of Goodbee. A spokesperson confirms shots were fired during the pursuit, but did not specify who fired the shots. There were no injuries reported, however.
The highway stayed closed for hours during the investigation, which kept many from going home, and kept those at home from leaving.
The suspect was taken into custody.
