Firefighters contained a two-alarm fire at a clothing store in the Broadmoor neighborhood early Tuesday morning.
According to the New Orleans Fire Department, the fire was reported around 3:41 a.m. in the 4200 block of Washington Avenue. Crews arriving at the scene found a clothing store with most of its interior already heavily involved in fire.
Investigators say the fire started at the clothing store "Brands for Less." It was contained to that location around 4:19 a.m. A nearby cellular phone store and former laundromat received moderate smoke and water damage.
"The suspicious nature of the fire, business closed and store-front window broken on arrival prompted the incident commander to request an NOFD Fire Investigator and an investigator from the Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office," NOFD said.
Firefighters say no one was hurt in the fire. The incident remains under investigation.
