A message from Sally-Ann Roberts:

'I am going to New York City today [Wednesday] to continue the preparation for the stem cell transplant for my sister Robin. We are very grateful for all of the prayers and best wishes that we have received from so many of you and we are optimistic that the procedure will be successful.

For the next several days I will be taking medication to prepare my bone marrow for the stem cell harvesting that will be conducted next week. Robin will receive my stem cells at a later date when her doctors deem that her body is ready to accept them. During the course of my stay in New York, I will be giving daily updates on the Eyewitness Morning News and on our Facebook page.

Robin and I hope that by sharing this experience we will take the mystery out of being a donor and encourage more people to join the Be the Match registry.

Many people are still waiting for their perfect match.

A simple act can save a life.'

Sally-Ann will be in New York for the next several weeks but will be sure to update us.
