NEW ORLEANS -- Not everyone is on the parade route on Mardi Gras day in New Orleans.

Thousands of people put on their best homemade costumes and march to the Marigny to join the Society of St. Anne in their annual march.

The loose parade winds through the Marigny, Bywater and French Quarter towing small floats, sound systems and more glitter than you'll see on every other day of Mardi Gras combined.
