METAIRIE- On a day where they could be carving the turkey, eager shoppers stood outside of Best Buy, holding their coupons, ready for the holiday deals.
Jamal Southerland was the second man in line. He arrived there around 8:30 Wednesday night and has his eyes on a new television.
"We're trying to get a 50-inch TV and an iPad mini," he said.
After several hours, the shoppers marched in, hustling through the store and towards the cashier, before marching home with their new gifts.
"It's my second time coming here," Shopper Josh Robertson said. "It was more packed than yesterday."
At Lakeside Shopping Center, Phyllis Noel and her wife Kim also did a bit of shopping around.
"This is our third trip back in the mall," Noel said.
Now Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping has become a bit of a holiday tradition.
"We enjoy it! Save some money," Phyllis said.
"Walk some calories off. The best thing to do," Kim Noel said.
