NEW ORLEANS – Three people were rescued by the Coast Guard after their boat capsized near Venice on Saturday.

The Coast Guard New Orleans sector received a report around 8:30 a.m. from a motor boat, ‘A.S. Patricia,’ that three people were in the water and their boat capsized.

A Coast Guard Station Venice boat crew and a helicopter crew responded to the scene. The boat crew found the three people in the water and their capsized 22-foot boat named ‘Fixer Upper.’

The Coast Guard boat crew took the rescued boaters to the Venice Marina.

The owner of the boat has arranged for salvage and Seatow, the Coast Guard says.
