NEW ORLEANS -- Firefighters are investigating the cause of a two-alarm fire Friday night at a home being renovated in the Garden District.

Officials with the New Orleans Fire department said they were called out to the home in the 1200 block of Second Street around 11:45 p.m.

Firefighters said when they arrived they found heavy smoke coming from the left rear of a two-story wood framed home.

Officials said the home appeared to be under renovation and no one was there at the time the fire broke out.

NOFD said none of the 42 firefighters who responded to the fire were injured.
