A New Orleans tow truck driver was remembered by his friends and fellow truck drivers with a memorial procession Thursday morning.

34-year-old Macy Lee Alvey III was killed March 2 by an impaired driver who hit Alvey as he was helping a disabled truck along I-55.

Alvey was a driver for Rony's Towing & Recovery and was regarded as a wonderful son and as someone who would "give you the shirt off his back."

His mother Maria said he would help anybody.

"He would go out of his way for whatever he needed to do for you no matter if he had to go without. He would help anybody,” said Maria Alvey.
