First 'Avengers: Infinity War' trailer is out of this world

The film hits theaters May 4, 2018.
Actor Josh Brolin (L) and producer Kevin Feige of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR took part today in the Walt Disney Studios live action presentation at Disney's D23 EXPO 2017 in Anaheim, Calif.

The superhero team-up film is getting super-sized.

After bringing together the likes of Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, Captain America, Black Widow and Hawkeye in the first two Avengers flicks, Marvel is upping the ante considerably in the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War, which brings together a massive number of the studio's heroes, from the Guardians of the Galaxy to Black Panther to Spider-Man. Based on the first trailer, which Winter Soldier actor Sebastian Stan, introduced on Good Morning America Wednesday, it's going to be a star-studded spectacle of comic book delight.

The packed trailer shows some Marvel favorites together for the first time, like Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) teaming up with Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) or Thor (Chris Hemsworth) running into the Guardians of the Galaxy. Fans will also notice some significant developments, like Spider-Man (Tom Holland) wearing a new mechanized suit, Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) leading an army and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) with blonde hair.

The trailer also gave us our best look yet at the film's villain, Thanos (Josh Brolin), who has appeared in small cameos since the first Avengers movie in 2012, but is at long last coming after our heroes.

Avengers: Infinity War will hit theaters May 4, 2018.
