Warren Easton student threatened school shooting, NOPD says

Teen booked on count of terrorizing

NEW ORLEANS -- A Warren Easton High School student is behind bars after he allegedly made a threat against the Mid-City school.

Police on Thursday booked Noah Berry, 18, on a count of terrorizing, according to court records.

The New Orleans Police Department said Berry, who is a student at the school, made a "possible school shooting threat."

Additional details were not immediately available. His bond was not set Thursday afternoon.

Local authorities have been on heightened alert since 14 students and three staff members were shot to death at a school in Parkland, Florida.

The NOPD arrested one student Wednesday after he allegedly made a threatening social media post about Martin Luther King Jr. High School in the Lower 9th Ward.

In Jefferson Parish, authorities arrested two Grace King High School students after a photograph showed up on social media with the words “future school shooter” next to one of the students.
