NEW ORLEANS -- A record-breaking fish was swimming the waters in City Park, and one lucky person recently caught him.

Broc Corcoran caught a record-breaking bass Monday that weighed in at 9 pounds and 3 ounces.

That breaks the previous record set in 2013 for a bass fish caught in the park. That fish weighed in at 9.05 pounds.

Corcoran told park officials he used a soft plastic minnow on a bait caster, but where he caught it in the park is being kept a secret. He also participated in the park's catch and release program, so now the fish is swimming the waters of City Park again.
