Anthony Davis tries to keep great run going in game against Spurs

Since basketball returned to New Orleans in 2002, Davis is now the leading scorer in franchise history and he's first in rebounds and blocked shots.

NEW ORLEANS – The Pelicans are trying to grab another win to make it seven in a row on Wednesday night against the San Antonio Spurs and trying to continue an amazing run for Anthony Davis.

In the Pelicans’ six-game winning streak, Davis is averaging 41 points a game and 15 rebounds.

On Monday night, against the Phoenix Suns, Davis scored 53 with 18 rebounds, marking the third time in his career he’s had at least 50 points in a game with 15 rebounds.

Only four men in the history of the NBA have done that three times in a career.

This is the sixth season watching Anthony Davis in New Orleans and fans have seen incremental improvement every year. Since basketball returned to New Orleans in 2002, Davis is now the leading scorer in franchise history and he’s first in rebounds and blocked shots.

After the game against Phoenix, several news organizations ran stories with headlines that included the words ‘MVP’ and ‘Anthony Davis.’

Since DeMarcus Cousins got injured, Davis is now playing on a different level and everyone is noticing.
