It's the last thing Pelicans fans want to hear.

According to a report from The Advocate, Anthony Davis sprained his ankle during a preseason exhibition match against the Houston Rockets in China.

The injury occurred less than seven minutes into the game. Davis charged towards the basket and stepped on the heel of Houston's Center, awkwardly landing on his ankle and sending him to the ground in pain.

Davis re-entered the game and ran the court for four possessions, according to The Advocate, but the pelicans opted to pull him out for the rest of the game.

Off-season acquisition and starting two-guard E'Twaun Moore suffered a contusion to his heel as well, prompting his early exit from the same game.

The severity of both injures is unknown.
