ORLANDO, Fla. -- With Hurricane Matthew expected to impact Florida, Central Florida and Tulane have agreed to postpone the football game scheduled for Friday night until Saturday, Nov. 5.

"Taking into account all the latest projections for Hurricane Matthew, we have to keep the safety of everyone involved in these events at the forefront of our decision-making," UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Daniel J. White said. "We appreciate our friends at Tulane and Houston understanding and working with us through this situation. Commissioner Mike Aresco and the American Athletic Conference staff have been very helpful as well."

Both schools have an open date on Nov. 5, which allowed for the game to moved. Kickoff time has yet to be announced.

"This was the best decision to ensure the safety of all involved," Tulane Director of Athletics Troy Dannen said. "Our entire Tulane community extends any support and assistance that may be needed to our friends at UCF. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who may affected by this hurricane."
