NEW ORLEANS - The Saints had been doing pretty well avoiding major injuries after a spate of them in the offseason and preseason had them rearrange some parts, but Sunday the team lost a key cog on the defensive line when Alex Okafor suffered a torn Achilles in the fourth quarter of the team's improbable comeback win Sunday.

Okafor, who, according to Joel Erickson of the Advocate, was approaching several incentives in his incentive-laden contract, signed with the team in the offseason on a one-year, $2 million deal.

Okafor was second on the team in tackles, sacks, tackles-for-loss, quarterback hits and had two forced fumbles.
