Buzz worthy is back (with a new name, Hornets Buzz wasn’t getting it done for me) and so are the Hornets.
OK. That might be a bit of an overstatement. New Orleans (3-5) won Monday night. Now it’s off to Phoenix, where the 7-1 Suns are running everyone out of the building with a high-flying offense.
Here’s the Buzz:
For much of the past two seasons, the Hornets have spent loads of time in the Top 10 of various power rankings. Um, a 2-5 start means that won’t remain the norm this year. ESPN.com has the Hornets No. 23 in a 30-team league.
Chris Mannix at SI.com isn’t a believer, either. He has the Hornets at No. 22 and believes the club is in a free fall to the bottom of the West. Yikes.
Matt Tait at the Lawrence Journal-World & News says that he really, really, really would like to see Julian Wright succeed. The problem is, Wright isn’t giving coaches a reason to let him succeed.
Jim Eichenhofer at Hornets.com has a good breakdown of how Monday night’s win over Clippers went down and what it means for the team.
The franchise also is holding its first junior Honeybee dance clinic of the season.
Nial Doherty, a fine fella if ever there was one, writes that the Clippers offered the Hornets exactly what they needed.
Jimmy Smith at the T-P writes that the win was much needed.
Meanwhile, Smith’s colleague John DeShazier writes that the Hornets picked the write season to come up way short out of the gate. The Saints are 8-0 if you haven’t heard.
A story at bleacherreport.com says that CP3 doesn’t deserve what this team is giving him. He deserves better. The scribe goes on to say that Paul will never lead a team built the way Hornets’ management builds to a championship.
